The approval of a new colonial neighbourhood in the occupied West Bank is aimed at perpetuating the aggressive policies of the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian territories, Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa said.

In a press release, al-Qanoa explained that Israeli War Minster Bennet is “trying to prove himself through these decisions” amid internal crises in the Israeli occupation.

Al-Qanoa pointed out that Bennett’s move came as a result of the increasing US support for the Israeli occupation at all levels, citing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s announcement about the US policy shift on Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
