Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh met on Thursday Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatari emir’s father, the Qatari capital, Doha.
Accompanied by senior delegation from Hamas, Haniyeh offered his congratulations to Sheikh Hamad on Qatar’s National Day.
During the meeting, Haniyeh hailed Qatar for its efforts in support of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip and its role in setting up relief and aid projects for the Palestinian people.
Haniyeh addressed the latest developments concerning Palestinian elections and the concessions made by his movement to ensure the success of election process, reiterating the necessity for Palestinian elections to take place in occupied Jerusalem, in addition to the West Bank and Gaza.
The Hamas chief briefed His Excellence on the most recent developments related to the Palestinian cause at the political level and the dangers posed to the legitimate Palestinian rights, as well as the attempts to liquidate the Palestinian rights.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Saleh al-Arouri, Hamas deputy chief, and Maher Salah, Hamas chief abroad, along with members of Hamas Political Bureau Nizar Awadallah and Sami Khater.
