On figures released by the UN about i home demolitions by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, member of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran stated the following:
The Israeli occupation has intensified its aggression against the West Bank in 2019 through settlement expansion, land grab, and home demolitions and confiscation of properties owned by Palestinian civilians.
The Israeli occupation perpetrated a heinous crime in Jerusalem’s Wadi al-Hummus area by demolishing 100 homes at once while the whole world was watching one of the largest mass demolitions, taking advantage of the unpreceded US support and leaving about 700 people, including women and children, homeless.
Such crimes were committed in front of the international community which claims that it is keen on protecting the rights of the weak, as all international bodies, policies, and treaties failed to hold the Israeli occupation accountable or preserve the Palestinians’ rights to their house and lands.
The demolitions carried out by Israeli occupation forces, which targeted more than 600 homes this year, in addition to attacks against Palestinians by gangs of Israeli settlers are a true example of the Israeli apartheid policies intended to deprive Palestinians of their basic rights to decent secure life.
The ongoing Israeli aggression, which takes several forms requires an inclusive, national strategy to fight off such attacks and make Israeli occupation forces and settlers pay a price for their crimes.
The repeated Israeli crimes highlights the necessity for a unified popular position against security coordination with the Israeli occupation, which provides security and protection for Israeli settlers for free.
