A delegation from Hamas, headed by its representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi, met Algerian ambassador to Lebanon Abdel Karim Rkaiby in the Beirut-based embassy.
Delivering the head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh congratulations to Rkaiby for his new position, the delegation wished the newly appointed ambassador success in his mission in the country.
The delegation addressed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause, as well as the situation of Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees, while meeting with the Algerian envoy.
Apart from Abdel Hadi, the delegation included Jihad Taha, Hamas deputy political representative in Lebanon, Mashoor Abdel Halim, head of Palestinian relations, and Abdel Majeed al-Awad, head of media and political relations.
Abdel Haid offered his congratulations to Rkaiby on the success of Algeria’s election process, wishing the recently elected president Abdelmadjid Tebboune success in his post and a future of security and stability for Algeria.
The Hamas representative in Lebanon briefed the Algerian ambassador on the possible dangers of the US-drafted “deal of the century” posed to the Palestinian cause, stressing that the Palestinian people would foil all plans undermining Palestinian constants.
Abdel Hadi, in addition, called for supporting Palestinian refugees in Lebanon amid an economic crisis in the country, urging UNRWA, the UN agency helping Palestinian refugees, to launch an urgent emergency plan to alleviate the hardships facing the Palestinian refugees.
The Algerian envoy, in turn, welcomed the Hamas delegation, stressing that the Palestinian cause is a core issue for Arab and Muslim nations and that his country would continue its support for the Palestinian cause and defending it in international forums.
