The option of resistance in the face of Israeli and US projects will not be broken or undermined, head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh said.

While attending the funeral procession of Iran’s elite Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani in Tehran, Haniyeh offered his condolences to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as to Iran’s leadership, government and people, over Soleimani’s assassination.

Haniyeh consoled Soleimani’s family and relatives and “everyone who embraced the option of resistance against the Israeli and American project in the region” on the Iranian general’s killing.

The top Hamas official stressed that Soleimani had spent his life supporting the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.

This heinous crime reflects a spirit of bullying and arrogance that is aimed at covering Israeli crimes in Palestine, Haniyeh explained.

Haniyeh called on the international community to condemn and reject this appalling crime and hold its perpetrator accountable.
