Ahmad Abdel Hadi, Hamas representative in Lebanon, discussed with Claudio Cordone, director of UNRWA affairs in Lebanon, the situation of Palestinian refugees in the country amid a deepening economic crisis facing Lebanon.

In a meeting at the UNRWA office in Beirut, Abdel Hadi called on UNRWA to assume its role towards Palestinian refugees.   

Abdel Hadi called on the United Nations body to immediately act to launch urgent aid programs for the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.  

The director of UNRWA affairs in Lebanon, in turn, stressed that strenuous efforts were exerted to secure funding for urgent aid programs for Palestinian refugees.

Abdel Hadi stressed that his movement would stay in touch with the UNRWA administration to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees, noting that Hamas would continue providing assistance to the Palestinian refugees as part of its national responsibility to alleviate their sufferings.
