Head of Hamas Political Bureua Ismail Haniyed offered on Friday evening his congratulations to Palestinian detainee Alaa Abu Jazr on his release from Israeli prisons.

Speaking to Abu Jazr, who had been in Israeli detention for 18 years, on the phone, Haniyeh hailed Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails for their “legendry” resilience in the face of the occupation.

Haniyeh reiterated that Hamas works at various levels to release Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons, noting that this is a top priority for the Hamas leadership.
