Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh’s foreign tour is going on according to the plan and objectives set by the Palestinian resistance movement, Taher al-Nunu, Haniyeh’s media advisor, said

In a press release, al-Nunu added that such a trip is aimed at mobilising political support for the Palestinian cause, particularly the status quo in Jerusalem, amid the plans targeting the city, including the “deal of the century”.

Describing the Hamas-Egypt relations as “pivotal” to the Palestinian cause and people, al-Nunu denied that there were tensions between his movement and Egypt.  

Al-Nunu stressed that his movement’s ties with Egypt “have reached a state of stability, cooperation, and coordination,” noting that the top Hamas official “attaches special importance to this strong and growing relationship.”

As for the relations between Hamas and others states, al-Nunu reiterated that his movement is “open to everyone and does not interfere in internal affairs of other countries,” adding that Hamas had never established ties with any country at the expense of another.

The media advisor explained that the Hamas chief has “unique” relations with everyone, pointing out that Haniyeh’s travel abroad through Egypt was facilitated.

Hamas’ political and diplomatic activity is aimed at the supreme interests of the Palestinian people and cause, al-Nunu concluded.
