A senior Hamas delegation met on Monday evening with Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani in Beirut.

The delegation included head of Hamas’ International Relations Office Mousa Abu Marzouq, members of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran and Maher Obied, and Hamas representative in Iran Khalid al-Qadumi, along with Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi.

Both sides discussed the latest political developments related to Palestine and the whole region, including the “deal of the century” and how to fight it off in addition to bilateral relations between Hamas and Iran.

The Hamas delegation briefed Larijani on a vision set up by the Palestinian movement to face off the US deal, firmly rejected by Hamas alongside all Palestinian factions, as it targets the Palestinians’ right to return, establish their independent state and apply Palestinian sovereignty on their lands.

The speaker of the Iranian Shura Council, in turn, reaffirmed his country’s position against the Trump’s plan and its constant stance toward supporting the Palestinian people and their option of resistance, stressing that Iran was keen on bolstering its ties with Hamas.
