A high ranking delegation from Hamas met on Tuesday evening with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Envoy to the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov and Russian Ambassador to Qatar Nour Mohamed Kholov in Doha, Qatar.
The delegation included Mousa Abu Marzouq, head of Hamas’ International Relations Office, Khalid Meshal, former Hamas chief, and Sami Khater, Hamas representative in Moscow.
During the meeting, the Hamas delegation updated Bogdanov on the latest political developments concerning the Palestinian cause, including Trump’s “deal of the century”.
As it is aimed to target the Palestinian people and their right to return and establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, the delegation reiterated that the Trump deal was firmly rejected by Hamas along with all segments of the Palestinian people.
The Russian deputy foreign minister, on the other hand, reaffirmed his country’s support for the Palestinian people and rejection to any peace plan refused by the Palestinians.
Russia is always ready to provide support for the Palestinian people to heal intra-Palestinian division, given that national unity is a key factor to achieve the legitimate Palestinian aspirations, Bogdanov confirmed.
