A senior delegation from Hamas has left Gaza for Cairo as part of ongoing contacts between both sides, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said Sunday.

In a press release, Qasem explained that the delegation’s visit to Cairo would address core issues related to continuing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Egypt’s role to alleviate Gaza’s humanitarian crisis caused by the Israeli siege on the impoverished enclave.

In this visit, Qasem continued, the Hamas delegation will discuss Egypt’s efforts to restructure the Palestinian House in the face of the “deal of the century”, in addition to matters concerning the security efforts exerted to maintain security on the borders.     

Hamas highly appreciates its relations with Egypt and always seeks to make the Egyptian role regarding Palestinian interests succeeds, stressed Qasem.  

Moscow visit

The head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniya’s trip to Moscow on Sunday came to discuss Russia’s role to endorse Palestinian rights and explain the dangers of the Trump plan, Qasem said.

The high-ranking delegation will brief Russia on the unabated Israeli attacks on Jerusalem and Gaza, along with Palestinian holy sites, Qasem added.
