Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh, accompanied by a senior delegation, has met with head of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

Kosachev reiterated his country’s constant rejection of the “deal of the century” and its repercussions on the Palestinian cause and rights of Palestinian refugees, vowing, meanwhile, to exert efforts with all countries opposing the Trump deal to foil it.

Hailing the steps taken by Hamas in the hopes of overcoming the obstacles facing Palestinian elections and unity, Kosachev restated the necessity for a unified Palestinian position to be taken in support of his country’s stance and Arab and international efforts to thwart Trump’s deal. 

The Hamas chief, on the other hand, thanked Russia for taking a constant position towards the Palestinian cause and rejecting the Trump’s deal, outlining the potential dangers of the US plan on the Palestinian cause and calling for more practical steps to be made to ensure that the legitimate Palestinian rights are not targeted and foil all plans orchestrated against them.
