Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has offered his condolences to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the death of Hussein Sheikh al-Islam, head of the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada and an adviser to Iran’s foreign minister.

“We, in Hamas, received with sorrow news of the death of the senior diplomat Hussein Sheikh al-Islam, praying to Allah to shower him with mercy and forgiveness and admit him into the Garden,” Haniyeh said in a letter of condolences.   

The top Hamas official hailed the deceased Iranian official for his constant and firm stances in support of Palestine and its just cause and his immense efforts to support the Palestinian people and their option to resist the occupation.
