Member of Hamas International Relations Office Basem Naim has hailed a letter signed by 64 US Congressman calling on US Secretary of State to pressure Israeli occupation to stop home demolitions and displacement of Palestinians.

“This is a positive and important development,” Maim said.

In the letter, the Democratic Congressmen urged Pompeo to press Trump’s administration to make sure that US military equipment and aid are not used to demolish Palestinian homes. 
Despite of its importance, Naim stressed that this move is not enough to deter the Israeli atrocious occupation compared to the scale of crimes committed against the Palestinian people around the clock with US support. 
Naim called for an immediate halt of all US support, especially military aid, for the Israeli occupation and prosecuting its leaders who are responsible for atrocities against the Palestinian people and appalling violations of international law. 
Highlighting the serious consequences of the “deal of the century” not only on the region but on the international stability, Naim urged US lawmakers to fight off the Trump administration’s plan aimed to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
