Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa has called on the Palestinian Authority to take “advanced” steps at an international scale to release Palestinian detainees from Israeli jails.  

The unabated, oppressive measures against Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails, coupled with the lack of protective measures against the coronavirus requires an official action at international forums and UN bodies by the Palestinian Authority to release them, said al-Qanoa in a press release on Wednesday.

Al-Qanoa held the Israeli occupation responsible for the ramifications of its ongoing oppression against the Palestinian detainees while denying them their legitimate rights, above all precautionary measures against the spread of the novel COVID-19 epidemic.
