Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Fathi al-Qarawi has held the Israeli occupation responsible for the life of Palestinian detainee Mohammed Hassan, who was tested positive for coronavirus in the Maskopia detention center.

In a press release on Saturday, al-Qarawi called for an action “to be taken at this stage to activate this serious issue at all concerned levels, especially at an international scale.”

The Hamas MP urged all human rights groups and international humanitarian organisations to assume their role towards Hassan “because his case is distinctly humanitarian and human rights-related.”

Al-Qarawi called for an immediate release of the 21-year-old college student in order to receive actual medical treatment for the deadly virus instead of being admitted to the notorious Ramla prison clinic.
