Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said that the Palestinian Authority insists to exclude Palestinian factions and take national decisions unilaterally.

In a statement on Saturday, Qasem confirmed that the arrest campaigns by the PA security forces against members of Palestinian factions are attempts to monopolise national decisions, silence other political players, and enforce partisan agenda that doesn’t serve the Palestinian issue.

“It’s clear that the PA prioritises the partisan interests and unilateralism over the national interests and humanitarian and relief needs of the Palestinian people,” Qasem mentioned.

The spokesperson emphasised that the current situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip requires all Palestinian to unify the efforts to beat coronavirus.

“But the PA does not prioritise the interests of Palestinian citizens,” Qasem continued.

He also stressed that the detention of activists from different Palestinian factions in the West Bank highlights that the PA has reached a ‘level of absurd’ and no one can keep silent while observing that odd demeanour.
