Hamas' Meshaal arrives in Malaysia to strengthen ties

Hamas politburo Chief Khaled Meshaal arrived in Kuala Lumpur heading a senior delegation from the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas to attend the annual general assembly of the Malaysian ruling party United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).

Hamas politburo Chief Khaled Meshaal arrived in Kuala Lumpur heading a senior delegation from the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas to attend the annual general assembly of the Malaysian ruling party United Malays National Organisation (UMNO).

The delegation includes Mousa Abu- Marzouk the deputy chief of Hamas' politburo, and senior leaders Mohammed Nazzal and Maher Obied.

Muslim Imran, the chairman of Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia (PCOM), said the visit of the Palestinian leaders concentrates on reaching out to the government and political leaders from different backgrounds.

Imran added that they aim at updating the country leaders on the developments in occupied Palestine and calling upon Malaysia to continue playing leading roles in supporting the Palestinian struggle.

According to an informed source, the delegation will stay for a 4-day-visit to meet the Malaysian leadership, and will deliver a key speech at a mass gathering organized by PCOM this coming Thursday.
