On July 8, 2014 the Israeli occupation launched a new aggression on the occupied and besieged Gaza strip. On the 13th day of the assault on Gaza and during the Zionist ground offensive, the densely populated district of Shujayea in Gaza City came under intense bombardment. On that night, 13 invading soliders were killed, and the advancing forces were met by fierce resistance. The Israeli gangs -which calls itself a moral army- responded by heavily bombing the area, killing an estimated 120 Palestinian civilians at dawn hour.

The area recieved hundreds of artillery rounds; in addition, the Zionist forces' spokesperson admitted to bombing the district with 120 bombs, each weighing a ton.
