In a phone call with Hebron mayor Jibril al-Bakri, Haniyeh highlighted the importance of Palestinian unity either in the face of the Israeli occupation or COVID-19 pandemic, wishing a fast and full recovery for the infected.

“Our steps towards unity are on the right path,” Haniyeh continued. “With joint effort and honest intentions, we can put forward joint plans and visions to foil the “deal of the century” and the annexation plan.”

The top Hamas official was briefed by the Hebron mayor on the latest updates concerning the coronavirus outbreak in the city.

Haniyeh also phoned a number of parliamentarians in Hebron as part of an effort to voice his solidarity with the Palestinian residents of the West Bank amid the coronavirus pandemic.
