Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh has offered his congratulations to Tunisian parliament speaker Rached Ghannouchi and people on the advent of Eid Al Adha and winning a confidence vote.

In a phone call, Haniyeh wished Tunisia a future of stability and prosperity, hoping the North African nation “stays an oasis of democracy, pluralism, and political values that our region, in general, is in need of.”  

The Tunisian parliament speaker, in turn, thanked Haniyeh for his call, restating his country’s support for the Palestinian cause.
