The Israeli occupation’s approval of a plan to build 1,000 settlement units in Jerusalem blatantly breaches international resolutions, the international humanitarian law, and US Security Council resolutions against settlement activities.

This step reiterates that the Israeli occupation, with its colonial nature, does not care about international laws and resolutions if they were not followed by actual, harsh penalties.    

These policies, backed by the US administration, pose a great threat to the Palestinian people and their constant rights and just issues. All Palestinians, including all factions, at all levels are facing enormous challenges and thus should face off the Israeli occupation with ways that amount to the scale of this serious danger and put an end to any prospect for negotiations or security coordination with it until they reach a state of inclusive resistance against it with all means possible and intensify their diplomatic efforts to press for more resolutions condemning, isolating, and holding the Israeli occupation accountable.
