The closure of Palestinian Prisoners’ Commission after the Palestinian Authority cut off fund to it indicates that the authority deliberately neglects the issue of Palestinian prisoners, Hamas spokesperson Abdullatif Al-Qanoa said.

In a press release, the Hamas spokesperson stated that international and human rights organisations should highlight the suffering of Palestinian detainees in the Israeli jails, especially amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Al-Qanoa called on Palestinian factions to unify all efforts to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian detainees in the battle against Israeli forces to gain their basic rights.
