The Israeli-Emirate normalisation agreement is suspicious and mounts to a crime against the Palestinian people, Member of Hamas political bureau Khalil al-Hayya said.

In an interview broadcast by al-Aqsa TV channel, Al-Hayya said that the agreement between the UAE and the Israeli occupation was a shocking concession made by an Arab country.

A stab in the back of the Palestinian people

The senior Hamas official confirmed that the movement rejects all forms of normalisation with the Israeli occupation by any organisation, political system, or state.

Al-Hayya called on the Arab and Islamic nations, along with the free people of the world, to pile pressure on the Arab regimes to halt any normalisation activity with the Israeli occupation.

He also noted that the Emirati-Israeli agreement was announced at a very difficult time.

“It is a gift to the Israeli occupation and a stab in the back of the Palestinian people and issue,” he continued.

Annexation plan

Commenting on the Israeli annexation plan, al-Hayya said that one may mistakenly think that the plan was cancelled, but it is still on top of the Israeli-US agenda.

He also added that the Israeli occupation backtracked on the annexation plan due to the unified Palestinian position against the Israeli push to annex swaths of the West Bank.

The Hamas official confirmed that the Palestinian people are united in resisting the Israeli occupation.

Breaking the siege

Regarding the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, the Hamas official confirmed that the outrage among the Palestinian people is a result of the tight blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip since 2006.

He emphasized that the Israeli occupation must lift the blockade, highlighting that a major demand of our people is breaking the siege.

Al-Hayya concluded that an Egyptian delegation will visit the Gaza Strip very soon to discuss the ongoing developments concerning the Palestinian issue.
