Hamas holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the death of Palestinian detainee Dawoud al-Khatib inside its prisons,

This crime is added to its criminal record and atrocities against Palestinian detainees.

Like the rest of Palestinian detainees, al-Khatib was held in harsh detention conditions and was subjected to deliberate medical negligence during his imprisonment.

Hamas condemns al-Khatib’s death due to medical neglect as a crime against humanity and Palestinian detainees that reflects the Israeli occupation’s serious demeanour and violations against Palestinian detainees, particularly the sick prisoners.  

These continuous crimes against Palestinian detainees will not break their willpower. Hamas will continue its struggle to end their sufferings and release them all at any cost.

Finally, the movement calls for human rights groups and international humanitarian organisations to act immediately to save the lives of thousands of Palestinians held in Israeli jails and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes and violations against them.
