The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas mourns the death of Sheikh Ahmad Abu Erra, who passed away at dawn Wednesday after contracting the coronavirus.
We offer our sincere condolences to Abu Erra’s family and beloved ones, as well as residents of the West Bank town of Tubas on the death of Abu Erra, who was a prominent Palestinian figure and a founder of Hamas in the West Bank.
Just like the vast majority of Palestinians, Abu Erra suffered from the profound injustice inflicted by the Israeli occupation upon his people.
The late Hamas official was imprisoned in Israeli jails for several years and was among those banished to Marj al-Zohour in Lebanon. However, Abu Erra continued to serve his people and cause and work as a social reformer and was known for his good morals and dedication until his death.
