The medical bodies in Gaza suffer from a severe shortage of medical supplies needed to battle the coronavirus pandemic in the Gaza Strip, Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil al-Hayya said.

In a statement, the Hamas official pointed out that the Palestinians in Gaza won’t accept to die slowly due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, which is a new form of death added to the misery caused by the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.

“The Israeli occupation is held responsible for all difficulties and hardships faced by the Palestinian people because it is an occupying power,” added al-Hayya.  

He also mentioned that Hamas has supported medical bodies in the battle against the coronavirus.

Commenting on the rush for normalisation with the Israeli occupation, al-Hayya said that the Palestinian factions responded to forging ties with the Israeli occupation by having a unified standpoint against normalisation, the Deal of the Century, and annexation plans.

The senior Hamas official confirmed that the conference of the secretaries-general of the Palestinian factions paved the way for a new stage, stressing that Hamas will implement all agreed-upon decisions made by the factions in the meeting.
