The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” mourned the death of Nashaat Melhem, who had carried out an armed attack in Tel Aviv a week ago, killing two Israeli settlers.
In a press release on Friday, Hamas spokesman Husam Badran described Melhem as a hero, noting that he had confused the Israeli occupation state for more than a week, and had shattered the myth of its security grip.
"Nashaat is an example of the free Palestinian who sacrifices himself in defense of his own people and in support of their cause," Badran underlined.
"The blood of the martyrs will remain a beacon for the [Palestinian] generations who will tread the same path," he added.
After a week-long pursuit, special Israeli forces had killed Melhem in after a fire exchange with him in Wada Ara town near the city of Umm al-Fahm.
