The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned on Tuesday evening a meeting for Arab journalists with Israeli War Minister Benny Gantz.
“Interviewing Israeli War Minister by journalists from any Arab country is shameful, condemned and deplored,” Hamas Spokesperson Hazem Qasem said in a statement.
Qasem’s statement came after a group of Arab journalists from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Saudi Arabia had conducted a virtual meeting with Gantz.
Qasem stated that Gantz launched an aggression on Gaza, committed massacres against its residents and completely destroyed many neighborhoods.
“This is a war criminal that no journalist should, under any circumstances, participate in any meeting he attends,” Qasem stressed.
Hamas spokesperson regretted that some Arab reporters have given the Israeli war minister a chance to convey his misleading point of view to the Arab audience.
“This harms the Arab Palestinian narrative and serves the narrative of the criminal Israeli occupation,” Qasem concluded.
