The US Secretary of State Mark Pompeo’s remarks about Palestinian detainee in Israeli jails Maher Al-Akhras, who has been on a hunger strike for more than two months, reflect the ‘bullying policy’ exercised by the Trump administration, said Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem.
The Palestinian father of six has started his hunger strike in late July to protest the administrative detention policy and his detention with no charge nor trial.
Pompeo commented on al-Akhras’ case that ‘Israel’ has to the right do what it thinks appropriate.
Responding to the US Secretary of State, Qasem noted that such statements confirm the Trump administration’s absolute support for the Israeli occupation and insistence to cover Israeli crimes and violations.
