The leadership of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas is following up with serious concerns the infection of dozens of Palestinian detainees with covid-19, putting their lives at grave risk and aggravating their suffering in Israeli prisons.

We warn the Israeli occupation and its leadership of continuing this deliberate medical negligence against Palestinian detainees and hold them full responsibility for any consequences of such health conditions in prisons and detention centres.

The international community and all human rights groups hold the same responsibility as well.

If the situation was not resolved and all the needs to afford proper healthcare for Palestinian prisoners, the consequences would be harsh at all levels.
