Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh phoned this evening the family of Palestinian detainee in Israeli jails Nael Al-Barghouti.

Al-Barghouti has spent forty-one years in a row in Israeli jails.

The Hamas chief hailed the steadfastness of the Palestinian detainee, stressing that he is a national icon.

Haniyeh confirmed that the issue of the Palestinian detainees is on top of Hamas priority and the movement diligently works on freeing them.
