Hamas chief media advisor Taher al-Nunu stated the following:

Hamas leadership is going to hold a meeting to discuss the recent developments concerning the Palestinian issues, especially the current political situation and reconciliation endeavours on the heels of the Palestinian Authority’s resolve to restore political ties with the Israeli occupation and the consequences of this move on the Palestinian reconciliation.

Hamas confirms that it is keen to achieve a national unity on the basis on comprehensive partnership, national constants, and resistance. This was the movement’s position stated clearly in the Palestinian Factions’ Secretary-Generals Meeting, the follow-up talks in Istanbul, and the last round of meetings between the Hamas and Fatah delegations in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Moreover, the movement is going to hold large-scale consultations with the Palestinian factions and national icons to agree on how to handle the latest developments relating to the Palestinian cause. All our meetings will have the Palestinian constants of land, Jerusalem, return, and absolute rejection of normalisation as their pillars.
