Head of Hamas National Relations Office Husam Badran stated the following:

Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh phoned on Wednesday some secretaries-general of Palestinian factions to discuss the latest developments linked to the Palestinian issue, especially the Palestinian Authority’s decision to restore ties and reactivate agreements with the Israeli occupation.

The Hamas chief also highlighted the outcomes of the PA’s move on the intra-Palestinian reconciliation endeavours that should have led to a unified political position, restructuring of the major Palestinian institutions, such as the Palestinian Liberation Organisation PLO and the National Council, and facilitating the elections.

Haniyeh discussed many topics relating to the PA’s decision and how to be back on the track of national unity, including the abandonment of Oslo Accords and its outcomes.

The Hamas chief and secretaries-general of the Palestinian factions agreed to keep such consolations and expand these efforts to include all Palestinian factions and segments.

The contacted Palestinian figures are: Secretary-General of Islamic Jihad Movement Ziyad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Abu Ahmed Foad, Deputy Secretary-General of the Palestinian Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine Dr Talah Alnaji, and Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Marwan al-Barghouti.
