Chief of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh extended on Sunday his sincere condolences to the family of Sadiq Al-Mahdi, head of Sudan’s National Umma Party, who died from the coronavirus last Thursday.

Haniyeh also phoned Abed al-Mahmoud, secretary-general of Al-Ansar Affairs Association, offering his heartfelt condolences on the death of Al-Mahdi and hailing the deceased Sudanese figure’s historic and pro-Palestinian positions and rejection of normalisation with the Israeli occupation.

Hamas chief highlighted Al-Mahdi’s stances in support of the Palestinian struggle for rights and against the Israeli occupation and its aggressive practices against the Palestinian people, in addition to his constant positions towards Arab unity.
