Deportation of Palestinians to South Lebanon “created epic of resilience and steadfastness in the face of the Israeli arrogance practiced against 415 members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad,” Hamas Spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanoa said on Thursday.

The remarks came in a press statement marking the 28th anniversary of forcefully deportation of members and leaders of Palestinian factions to Marj al-Zohour in Southern Lebanon.

“The deportees did not accept the deportation and with much resilience they fought the Israeli policy for a whole year in Marj al-Zohour camp,” al-Qanoa said.

He pointed out that the Palestinian deportees had returned home safe and led the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.

“The deportees turned the deportation into a national university for making leaders and embarked on a new resistance pathway for our people to follow against the Israeli occupation, preserve their constants, and protect their rights,” al-Qanoa concluded.
