On the eve of Christmas celebrations, Hamas Official Spokesman Fawzi Barhoum commented on the strong relations between Muslims and Christians:

Christians are in the heart of Palestinian social fabric. We are proud of our relationship with the Christians residing in Palestine and elsewhere in the world.

We are proud of this historic relationship between the Christians and Muslim Palestinians. We live with peace and love on this land. Both Christians and Muslims enjoy the same rights and have the same duties. We also share the history of this holy land.

Additionally, the Palestinian people, Christians and Muslims, are on the same path of freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Palestine is for all Palestinians and we all fight against the same enemy. And the Palestinian issue will remain the central issue for Arabs, Muslims and Christians.
