Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh congratulated on Sunday Qatar’s Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the occasion of his country’s National Day.

“We are pleased in Hamas movement in Palestine to send our sincere congratulations to Your Highnesses on the occasion of the National Day of Qatar that the brotherly Qatari people celebrate with this year’s slogan: ‘We praise you Allah, the Lord of the Throne, we accept your judgment in all actions,’” Haniyeh said in a letter to the Emir.

Haniyeh wished the Qatari Emir, government and people a future of stability, development and prosperity.

The top Hamas leader thanked the Qatari leadership and people for their “honuorable and historic” positions in support of Palestine and its just cause.

He also thanked them for their role in alleviating the hardships facing Gaza’s residents, resulted of the continuous Israeli siege and aggression, through humanitarian and charity projects. 

Haniyeh hoped that Qatar would remain committed to its role and unique political and diplomatic stances in support for the “legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people to restore their rights and freedom, liberate their lands and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

The chief of Hamas Political Bureau expressed his profound gratitude for the close relationship between the Qatari and Palestinian people, wishing Qatar and its people more prosperity and welfare.
