Palestinian Authority (PA), PLO and Fatah President Mahmoud Abbas continues to exclude other Palestinian factions when handling collective issues, Hamas Spokesperson Hazim Qasim said on Monday.

In a remarks given to the media, Qasim said that Abbas is playing around by holding the PLO’s Central Committee as this move overrides the outcomes of the Secretaries-General of the Palestinian Factions Conference held in September.

“Such organisations don’t represent the Palestinian people, unless formed based on national consensus, and holding the Central Committee without consensus is rejected because it deepens the Palestinian split,” Qasim added.

While the Palestinian Authority apparently declares that it’s committed to the outcomes of the Secretaries-General of the Palestinian Factions Conference, it misleads the Palestinian factions by talking unilateral decisions, Qasim reiterated.

He stressed that the PA had hindered all reconciliation efforts by restoring ties and security collaboration with the Israeli occupation.

Qasim also stressed that Abbas adheres to negotiations with the Israeli occupation, which is the basis of the Palestinian rift, as it is denounced by all the Palestinian people.

“The agreements reached by the Palestinian factions and the outcomes of the Secretaries-General of the Palestinian Factions Conference must be implemented immediately,” he continued, stressing that Hamas “is committed to reconciliation and unity despite of all the recent developments.”
