Member of Hamas International Relations Office Dr Basem Naim said that harmony between all religious and social groups in Palestine are not disturbed by trivial incidents.

In a press release, Naim said that the strong ties with the Palestinian Christians is not a result of political conditions or tactics, but is part of our religion, as the Holy Quran recommends treating the Christians kindly.

The senior Hamas official explained that Muslims and Christians are partners in this occupied homeland—they enjoy the same rights and burden the same duties.

“Throughout its life, Hamas has maintained strong ties with all Christian secs and churches inside Palestine and in the diaspora,” Naim added.

Based on national partnership, this harmony has been clearly observed at different political, social, and religious occasions, even when it comes to backing the resistance and the Palestinian freedom fighters, he clarified.

Naim noted that the Palestinians live under a fascist, racist Israeli occupation that never draws a distinction between Muslims and Christians, mosques and churches, or sheikhs and priests.

“In the middle of this dark reality, we should unify our people and protect our sacred places and legacy together,” he concluded.
