Hamas movement mourns the death of Syrian Director Hatem Ali and offers its sincerest condolences to the brotherly Syrian people and the family of the late director.

Through his art, Ali highlighted the Arab people’s support for the Palestinian issue and replaced it again on top of the agenda when some Arab countries rushed to normalise ties with the Israeli occupation.

The director passed away after a creative history of touching drama that represented the Palestinian suffering and the Israeli tyranny.

Ali directed al-Taghreba al-Falastenya (The Palestinian Exodus) in 2004, a 31-episode drama which tells the story of Palestinian families before, during and after the 1948 Nakba, and the following exile, when around 700,000 Palestinians were forced to flee their homes by Zionist militias, and 15,000 were killed during the creation of Israel.
