The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas lauded on Wednesday joint statement by three Mauritanian parties calling for passing legislation criminalising normalisation of ties with Israeli occupation.
In a tweet, Hamas Spokesperson Abdel Latif al-Qanoa expressed his movement’s appreciation of such “free and noble” stances, which reflect the Mauritanian people’s support for the Palestinians and their just cause.
Al-Qanoa called for similar Arab and Muslim steps to be taken in support for the Palestinians and their rights.
In a statement, the three Mauritanian parties wrote: “The crime of normalisation, apart from constituting a violation of the consensus of the peoples of the world who advocate for peace, freedom and anti-colonialism, means accepting all the crimes on which the brutal Zionist entity was founded and continues to commit on a daily basis.”
