The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas vehemently condemns the shooting at Palestinian figure and former mayor of Umm al-Fahm Dr Suleiman Aghbariah.

As we hold the Israeli occupation, whose measures have resulted in high crime rates in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, full responsiblity for this heinous crime, we call on Palestinian citizens of the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories to face off Israeli conspiracies, troublemakers and criminals inside the Palestinian community.

Hamas hails Aghbariah for his enormous national and humanitarian role in serving the Palestinian people, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as foiling the Israeli plots against them.

Aghbariah has endured Israeli restrictions, interrogation, imprisonment, travel ban and have been barred from accessing Jerusalem for long periods of time during his freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Hamas wishes Aghbariah a fast and full recovery and a future of peace and security for Palestinian citizens of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.
