The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourns the death of Palestinian intellectual Professor Abdul-Sattar Qasem, who was a prominent scholar in political science.

Abdul-Sattar Qasem passed away after contracting coronavirus.

Professor Qasem was a voice for the right and dedicated his life to defend the Palestinian people and their rights.

While bidding farewell to Professor Qasem, we recall his honourable and courageous position against the Oslo Accords.

He also advocated for the idea of building up a national bloc that gets out of the grip of the Israeli occupation and leads the Palestinians to independence.

On this sad occasion, we offer condolences to his family, students and all the Palestinian people.
