The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourns the death of Palestinian citizen Khalid Nofal, a resident of Ras Karkar village in the West Bank city of Ramallah, who was shot dead by an Israeli settler after taking over his land, fencing it in, and preventing him from accessing it.

Nofal’s killing is a heinous crime that reflects the sadist and brutal nature of the Israeli occupation, which seeks to confiscate Palestinians’ lands and property.

The surge of shootings of Palestinian citizens in areas close to illegal settlements and Israeli military checkpoints in the occupied West Bank is part of a bid by the Israeli occupation and its leadership to dissuade the Palestinian people from continuing their freedom struggle against the Israeli colonial settler project. 

We salute that residents of Ras Karkar village for warding off illegal settlement activity in the area of Jabal Al-Risan.

We stress that activating resistance in all forms is capable of putting an end to the Israeli aggression and illegal settlement activity.
