Statement on Israeli raids and detention campaigns in West Bank

The detention of Hamas official Khalid al-Hajj by Israeli occupation forces will not break the willpower of fellow Hamas members.

However, it will prompt Hamas leaders and members to continue fulfilling their duty towards their people and exerting efforts to achieve national unity, rearrange the Palestinian priorities and be steadfast in the face of the Israeli occupation.   

Al-Hajj has always been an advocate for unity, which will herald a new stage for our Palestinian people, and had been imprisoned for more than 10 years by the Israeli occupation.

Threatening and intimidating Palestinians in order not to take part in the upcoming elections by the Israeli occupation will not deter them from going ahead.
