Hamas prefers unified list inclusive of all Palestinian factions

Deputy Chief of Hamas Political Bureau in Gaza Dr Khalil Al-Hayya has said that his movement prefers running for Palestinian parliamentary election on unified list inclusive of all Palestinian factions.

In an interview with Al-Aqsa TV Channel, the senior Hamas official noted that Hamas is optimistic about the Cairo meetings and is going firmly towards the elections.

He confirmed that the movement will accept the results whatever they are.

Al-Hayya explained that the Palestinian national dialogue in Cairo is intended to discuss different issues, especially the Palestinian national council, the Palestinian Liberation Organisation, and other points relating to the Palestinian vote.

“Hamas doesn’t have any problem to support any national figure in the presidential elections,” Al-Hayya added.

He pointed out that the Palestinian factions met in Cairo stressed on the necessity to hold the elections according to the presidential decrees, starting from the parliamentary election and ending up with the national council election.

The senior Hamas leader clarified that the factions agreed to have the Ministry of Justice in Gaza and the West Bank the legal reference for the Palestinian vote.
