The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has welcomed calls by Venezuelan ambassador to the UN Security Council for members of the body to visit the Gaza Strip.

In a press statement on Sunday, Hamas said that such visit is welcomed to visit the Gaza Strip and have a close look at the humanitarian suffering of its population.

Hamas hailed the supportive positions of the Venezuelan state and ambassador.

“We value Venezuela’s efforts towards the Palestinian people and their national cause, and appreciate the Venezuelan calls for lifting the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip,” the statement read.
