Commenting on the detention campaign launched on Sunday night by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian ex-detainees and Hamas officials, member of Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Dodeen stated the following:

We condemn the fierce arrest campaigns carried out by the Israeli occupation government against Palestinian officials and field activists in an obvious bid to obstruct the course of Palestinian elections.

This confirms its criminal and terrorist nature of besieging the Palestinian people and their democratic options; since the start of arrangements to hold Palestinian elections, Israeli threats against Hamas officials and supporters did not stop.

We salute Hamas officials and supporters who are determined to go ahead rearranging the Palestinian institutions and restoring national unity.

We call on the free people of the world and the countries supportive of Palestinian rights to take action against the Israeli arrogance, which reflects an unprecedented fascism to dominate the will of people in front of the entire world; the Palestinian people have a civilised identity that placed them at the forefront of peoples and nations.
