On the steadfastness of Palestinian Jerusalemite in the face of the Israeli occupation, Hamas official Rafaat Naseef states the following:

We hail the Palestinian Jerusalemites who stood steadfast last night in defence of the holy city of Jerusalem and faced off Israeli occupation’s attempts to break into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Last night's scene sends a clear message to the world that Jerusalem is the heart of the Palestinian freedom struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Additionally, Hamas condemns the Israeli measures aimed at preventing Palestinians from performing their holy rituals in the month of Ramadan, especially at the Damascus gate. We deem such Israeli behaviour as a fascist demeanour.

We confirm that all Israeli schemes to Judaize Jerusalem are doomed to failure, as the Palestinians will defend the holy city with all means possible.
